El Cumarú es una madera tropical, proveniente de Sudamérica. Es una madera de alta densidad lo cual permite que se pueda usar en pisos, fachadas, puentes, construcción pesada, parquet, escalerasy en general cualquier aplicación en exterior.
Color:
Presenta variación de tonalidades que van entre el marrón rojizo y marrón claro, observándose entre ambas un gran y abrupto contraste de color.
Olor:
Distintivo y característico, únicamente cuando esta húmedo.
Grano:
Grano o hilo entrecruzado, esto hace que la madera ejerza más tensión y por tanto pueda tener cierta tendencia a tener movimiento. Es por esto que esta madera siempre debe estar estufada con un grado de humedad entre 10% y 12%, lo que permitirá que la madera homogenice su humedad y sea más estable a los cambios de clima.
