Al ser una madera blanda, el mobiliario o suelos de este material se consideran poco resistentes. Sin embargo, este material natural es imprescindible en estructuras o colocarse bajo el parqué (rastreles). La madera es un material que se expande y contrae según las condiciones de temperatura y humedad. Por eso existe el riesgo de que se rompa.
La madera del samán es muy durable, ya que cuenta con una durabilidad natural muy alta que la protege contra los agentes biológicos, tales como insectos y hongos, además es muy resiste frente a las inclemencias del clima. Es considerada igual de durable que la teca.
La Madera de Parota es reconocida por su increíble belleza dada sus propiedades de color y textura así como su resistencia a la humedad. Es moderadamente resistente al ataque de hongos y termitas. Esta madera tiene un peso bajo – medio. También presenta características que permiten darle un excelente acabado.

Se trata de una madera clara, incluso blanquecina, y muy homogénea. La madera de haya natural con el tiempo adquiere cierta tonalidad rojiza-amarilla, pero sigue siendo bastante blanca. Es muy frecuente someterla a un proceso de vaporizado que la oscurece alcanzado tonos rojizos anaranjados. Es lo que se conoce como madera de haya vaporizada, y son muchos los que piensan que este es el color natural.
Es una madera pesada, por encima de 700 kg/m3 y semi-dura.
Se pudre fácilmente en contacto con la humedad y es sensible al ataque de insectos y hongos.Poro fino y disperso. Fibra recta.
También conocida como Sucupira, es una madera que se encuentra en la zona tropical de América del Sur.
El color de la madera varía del pardo oscuro al pardo rojizo y la albura es blanco-gris o blanco-amarillo. Puede presentar finas estrías de color más claro. La madera de albura está claramente diferenciada y en la madera en rollo ocupa un espesor de 1 a 2 cm. Madera Pesada con una densidad de 940 Kg./m3 al 15% de humedad. La fibra puede ser recta o entrelazada. El grano es medio.
Originaria del norte de México, más específicamente de Baja California Norte. Actualmente el uso principal que se le da es para generar y mantener fuego, pero se están haciendo una serie de estudios para encontrar nuevos usos y propiedades para este material.

Panel fabricado con gránulos de corcho comprimido. Se utiliza como aislamiento térmico y acústico. Los tableros de corcho son adecuados para aislar paredes, techos y suelos. Los gránulos, por otro lado, funcionan como un material de aislamiento apropiado para paredes de cavidades, pisos o soleras. Gracias a sus propiedades hidrófugas, el corcho es aplicable en ambientes donde existe el riesgo de penetración de la humedad.
Material compuesto por una superficie de caucho reciclado infundido con corcho natural. El contenido reciclado oscila entre el 15% en los colores altos y el 81% en los productos con colores bajos. Tiene buenas propiedades aislantes y se utiliza en la producción de suelos para uso comercial.
