Es un mineral del grupo de los sulfuros. Contiene aproximadamente 46,6% de hierro y 53,4% de azufre, tiene una tenacidad frágil. Se presenta en yacimientos de desplazamiento hidrotermales de baja temperatura, como concreciones en sedimentos. Se origina a bajas temperaturas en entornos muy ácidos, tanto en yacimientos sedimentarios como hidrotermales.
La Celestina pertenece al grupo de las baritas, siendo la análoga de ésta por su contenido en estroncio, se encuentra en rocas sedimentarias y en depósitos de halita y yeso. Este mineral destaca por tener un color azul en diferentes variantes, el cual hace que sea un mineral realmente muy vistoso a simple vista. es muy poco soluble en ácidos. Además, se presenta en forma de cristales tabulares. Una de sus características principales son los cristales como agujas, los cuales son muy brillantes.
La magnetita es un mineral de hierro. Esta variedad de mineral cuenta con un magnetismo realmente fuerte gracias a que ha sufrido el fenómeno de ferromagnetismo. Esto quiere decir que los momentos magnéticos están acoplados en este mineral de manera importante. Gracias a su composición es la responsable de conseguir que la magnetita sea un imán.
El mármol es una roca metamórfica compacta formada a partir de rocas calizas que, sometidas a elevadas temperaturas y presiones, alcanzan un alto grado de cristalización. El componente básico del mármol es el carbonato cálcico, cuyo contenido supera el 90 por ciento; los demás componentes son los que dan gran variedad de colores en los mármoles y definen sus características físicas. Tras un proceso de pulido por abrasión el mármol alcanza alto nivel de brillo natural, es decir, sin ceras ni componentes químicos.
El carbón o carbón mineral es una roca sedimentaria organogenia de color negro, muy rica en carbono y con cantidades variables de otros elementos, principalmente hidrógeno, azufre, oxígeno y nitrógeno, utilizada como combustible fósil. La mayoría del carbón explotado se formó a partir de los vegetales que crecieron durante los períodos Carbonífero. Es un recurso no renovable.
La calcedonia es una variedad criptocristalina del cuarzo, pertenece al grupo de los óxidos, con fórmula SiO2. Pertenece al sistema de cristalización trigonal. La calcedonia es de procedencia volcánica y debe su color por las múltiples inclusiones que se han depositado durante el crecimiento de ésta. La calcedonia posee múltiples variedades y colores, siendo las más típicas toda clase de ágatas y jaspes.
La galena entra dentro de la clase de mineral de los sulfuros, teniendo una tonalidad en su color gris metalizada, con un brillo precioso y que nos llama mucho la atención. También puede encontrarse esta piedra con un color azulado con varias rayas entre gris y azul que ayudan a identificarla. Su forma habitual es la de cristales en forma cúbica, aunque pueden también verse en octaedros con una concentración muy elevada de formas, pegadas unas a las otras.
La cuprita es un mineral del grupo de los óxidos. Químicamente es un óxido cuproso de color rojo que suele estar alterado superficialmente en malaquita verdosa. La variedad calcotriquita toma aspecto de agregado de cristales capilares largos. Es un mineral secundario, que se forma en la zona de oxidación de los depósitos de otros minerales de cobre, por lo que frecuentemente aparece asociado al cobre nativo.
La turmalina es una roca de la clase VIII (silicatos), según la clasificación de Strunz, grupo de los ciclosilicatos. Puede presentar prácticamente todos los colores, desde incoloro (acroíta) hasta negro (chorlo), pasando por el marrón o amarillo (Dravita), rojo, azul, rosa y verde; prevaleciendo los verdes oscuros y tonalidades rosas en las variedades gemas (elbaítas).
La rodonita o pajsbergita es un mineral del grupo de los silicatos, subgrupo inosilicatos, y dentro de estos pertenece a los piroxenos. Químicamente es un silicato de manganeso. Se presenta en masas espáticas granuladas o en granos diseminados, muy raramente en cristales tabulares. Color rosa rojizo característico, pero que puede cambiar a marrón-negro cuando queda expuesto a la intemperie.
El ópalo es un mineraloide del grupo IX (silicatos, tectosilicatos), según la clasificación de Strunz. Tiene una composición similar a la del cuarzo del que se diferencia porque tiene moléculas de agua en su interior. Su fórmula es SiO2nH2O. Con mucha frecuencia se encuentran rellenando cavidades de riolitas o rocas sedimentarias. Existen numerosas variedades de ópalo que tienen apariencias diferentes.
La calcantita, chalcantita, calclasa o chalclasa, es un mineral del grupo VI (sulfatos) según la clasificación de Strunz, se la conoce por ser extremadamente soluble en el agua (hecho que explica que solamente se encuentre de forma natural en zonas de clima muy seco), acumular bastante polvo y proporcionar al paladar un gusto metálico. Es levemente tóxica.
